Notice is hereby given that the Capital Regional District (the “CRD”), intends to directly award a contract to the following supplier to provide Septage Receiving and Treatment Services for a term of (1) year, where the Capital Regional District (CRD) receives annual revenue, historically between $150,000 and $180,000 per year:

Pursuant to CRD Bylaw 2827, “Capital Regional District Septage Disposal Bylaw No. 2, 2000”, and per CRD powers under SLP OIC 1459/1978, persons within the Capital Regional District may only dispose of septage waste at a designated septage disposal facility. There is only one facility, operated by SPL Septage Processing Ltd (“SPL”). GFL Environmental Services Inc. has purchased SPL and is operating its facility for receipt of septage.
GFL Environmental Services Inc. is the only local firm with ability, and required equipment and infrastructure to accept and process the volumes associated with the raw septage waste in the region.
