Project Description:

INVITATION TO TENDER

Sealed Tenders, plainly marked on the envelope "Tender for SOUTHERN GULF ISLANDS HARBOUR (SGIH) – RETREAT COVE & MINERS BAY UPGRADES, IWS 2025-008" will be received by Jeannette Zheng, Purchaser, Infrastructure and Water Services of the Capital Regional District at their offices at 479 Island Highway, Victoria, British Columbia up to 2:00:00 pm local time on July 7, 2025, at which time they will be opened in private.

The works to be constructed under this Contract generally include, but is not limited to, the following:

Retreat Cove:

  • Approach pile work to include:
    • Remove and dispose of 5 piles.
    • Supply and install steel piles (12.75-inch diameter with 0.5-inch wall), including anodes, located at: Bent 5 Row A and B, Bent 6 Row A, Bent 8 Row B and Bent 10 Row B-Fender 3.
    • Remove and dispose of 6 cross-braces.
    • Supply and install cross-braces located at: Bent 4 Row A to B (north) and Row B to A (south), Bent 5 Row A to B (north), Bent 9 Row A to C (south) and Row C to A (north) and Bent 10 Row C to A (south)
  • Float A work to include:
    • Remove and dispose of 2 mooring piles.
    • Supply and install steel piles (12.75-inch diameter and .5-inch wall) located at: Group B pile 4 and 6.
    • Replace Flanges: Float A (location left side 0-14.6 meters) for total 14.6 meters, and Float A (location right side 16.4-24.9 meters.
    • Replace Flange connection blocks.

Miners Bay:

  • Approach pile work to include:
    • Remove and dispose of 9 piles.
    • Supply and install steel piles (12.75-inch diameter with .5-inch wall), including anodes, located at: Bent 25 Row C, Bent 34 Row A-S Btr W, Bent 34 Row C, Bent 36 Row A, Bent 37 Row G-W Btr, Bent 39 Row H-Fndr.
    • Remove and dispose of 2 cross-braces.
    • Supply and install cross-braces located at: Bent 21 Row A to C (east), Bent 22 Row A to C (east).
  • Float A work to include:
    • Remove and dispose of 2 mooring piles.
    • Supply and install steel piles (12.75-inch diameter and .5-inch wall) located at: Group B pile 6 and 12.
Proponents may be awarded follow-on work without a competition.

Vendors are encouraged to check BC Bid regularly for updates and not rely on e-mail notifications, as e-mail is inherently unreliable and subject to interruptions.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

No pre-tender site meeting will be held. Tenderers are recommended to visit the site to ensure that they have satisfied themselves of everything and of every condition that could affect the execution of the work.  Tenderers are encouraged to make enquiries to satisfy themselves of the work requirements.
